Junior Cybersecurity Technician — NEW PROGRAMME

Information Technology Security is an advanced vocational education programme leading to the qualification of Junior Cybersecurity Technician. The programme prepares specialists to maintain an organisation's cybersecurity solutions, respond to incidents and test system security. Graduates are able to identify vulnerabilities, collect digital evidence and ensure that data processing complies with the GDPR and NIS2 frameworks. The programme corresponds to Level 4 of the Latvian Qualifications Framework (LQF).

4 years (10 months per academic year). The programme includes an intensive cybersecurity technician placement (560+ hours) in a real working environment, so that theory is applied in practice straight away, under the guidance of leading experts.

During the programme, students learn the fundamentals of ICT and security architecture, the relevant legislation and risk management. They learn to identify attacks and manage incidents — classification, analysis and prevention — as well as to carry out security testing and address vulnerabilities. The programme goes into depth on digital forensics (incident investigation) and information systems security engineering, including system hardening and configuration. Technical skills cover working with modern security solutions and tools, and using artificial intelligence both as an instrument and as a security challenge in its own right. The programme is designed to take you from an ordinary user to a defender of the digital environment, able to work in a team and take on real responsibility.

The annual fee for the 2026/2027 academic year is EUR 3,700 (EUR 370 per month over 10 academic months). The school offers a wide range of discounts.

The programme is aimed at genuinely curious people with an analytical mind who care about security. In cybersecurity, you will learn skills such as configuring different computer networks, analysing incidents, configuring security in systems and ensuring that same security in applications — particularly now, when AI has developed at an extraordinary pace. Cybersecurity is the foundation you have to master and understand, whether you are developing applications, configuring networks or analysing incidents. All of this matters enormously in today's labour market, in any sector. These skills are in high demand right now, and they are very well paid.
